RESCUE DIVER COURSE

Scuba divers describe the PADI Rescue Diver course as the most challenging, yet most rewarding course they’ve ever taken. Why? Because you learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver, knowing that you can help others if needed.

During the course, you learn to become a better buddy by practicing problem solving skills until they become second nature. Plus, the course is just fun – it’s serious, but still allows for lots of laughter in between the focused learning.supervision of your PADI Instructor. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun scuba diving.

Must be at least 12 years old

Hold Advanced Open Water Diver Certification or Junior Advanced Open Water Diver Certification

If you’re a PADI Adventure Diver and have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive, you may enroll in the Rescue Diver course

Have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months (You can complete this training during the Rescue Diver course).

You may also wish to enroll in the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty course at the same time.

The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills. Topics include:

  • Self rescue
  • Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
  • Emergency management and equipment
  • Rescuing panicked divers
  • Rescuing unresponsive divers

You may be able to get college credit for the Rescue Diver course – ask your instructor.

You may also wish to enroll in the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty course at the same time.

Register for Rescue Diver Online – PADI’s eLearning option – to start now. You progress through five knowledge development sections using a web-based system that lets you learn at your own pace through an easy-to-use, interactive program. You also have access to an online version of the Rescue Diver Manual for reference during and after the course.

If you prefer, you can choose to study with the Rescue Diver Manual and watch the Rescue Diver Video (a book and DVD package). Visit the dive center to enroll in the course, get your materials and start learning. Your PADI Instructor will meet with you to schedule knowledge review sessions along with your rescue exercises and scenarios.

THEORY MODULE

All materials for completion of the theory in a classroom environment. Direct supervision, instruction and assistance from a teaching status PADI Dive Instructor.

Or use the highly recommended PADI online training program.

 CONFINED WATER TRAINING (1 Day)

Progressive training modules in rescue techniques with scenario practices.

Lunch and drink at Twin Rock Beach Resort Cafe/Restaurant

OPEN WATER TRAINING DIVES (Rescue Diver Scenarios completed over 1 day)

Direct supervision and instruction from a teaching status PADI Dive Instructor.

Full set of rental dive equipment, tanks and weights. Includes specialist dive equipment such as compass, slates etc.

Water, tea/coffee, soft drinks, snacks and between dive meal (Brunch/Lunch).

Transfer from Twin Rock Beach Resort to boat departure point and return each day.

Upon completion of the course your all important Certification Card and Completed Training Record/Log Book.

Theory, Online Program – At your own pace

Confined Water Training – 1 Day

Open Water Training – 1 Day Total = 3 Days with class based theory, 2 Days with online theory

We understand that people may have busy schedules or want to spread the cost of the course over a few weeks or months.

As our aim is to help as many people as possible to become advanced divers who will in turn become advocates we created the Flexi Rescue Diver Course. This is the PADI Rescue Diver Course with all the same training standards and procedures. But we have created a tailored plan to help you spread the cost or spread it over a longer period if your timetable is busy.

We have separated the course into three distinct modules. This allows you to pay for each module as and when you are able. Don’t worry, the total payment plan price is the same as completing the course in one go. No hidden extras or additions. There is no credit charges as you just pay as you Go.

For example:

Make payment 1 – Complete the Theory section (Online or Classroom)

Make payment 2 – Confined Water training

Make payment 3 – Open Water training scenarios

Upon completion of your final scenario you will be certified and receive your prestigious PADI Rescue Diver certification card.

The Rescue Diver course is open to PADI Advanced Open Water Divers as well as Adventure Divers who are at least 12 years old and have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive.

You also need to have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months. You can complete this training during the Rescue Diver course. Your instructor may also offer the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty diver course at the same time.
