MASTER SCUBA DIVER

Master Scuba Divers are at the very pinnacle of the non-professional diving world.

The Master Scuba Diver rating places you in an elite group of respected divers who have earned this rating through both significant experience and scuba training. Fewer than two percent of divers ever achieve this rating. When you flash your Master Scuba Diver card, people know that you’ve spent time underwater in a variety of environments and had your share of dive adventures.

Every diver, who is at least 12 years old, should aim for Master Scuba Diver. It is the epitome of excellence.

Once you have completed your PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certifications), all you need is to earn five PADI Specialty Diver certifications and have logged a minimum of 50 dives.

The Master Scuba Diver (MSD) Rating is the highest attainable on the PADI training system.

The MSD is not a course in itself but a culmination of completing other course programs, a total of 5 specialty diver courses. During those courses you will learn multiple skills across multiple disciplines, all dependent on what specialties you chose to do.

As stated this is not a course in itself but a certification received upon completion of 5 specialties. It is worth remembering that you can partake in specialty courses at anytime after completing the Open Water Diver Course and that these will count towards your MSD.

So for example you could complete 5 specialty courses between your Open Water Diver Course and Rescue Diver Course. Providing you meet the other criteria you can then receive the MSD rating.

For 2018/2019 the Master Scuba Diver rating is FREE
Thats right….once you reach the certification requirement level your card and rating will be free.
